Important: BRP Dealer Operation Standards and Certification
One crucial operational standard for a BRP-certified dealer since February 20222February 20222 is that the dealer "must use a DCP-certified DMS".
Before this update, a dealer was only required to own a DCP-certified DMS; however, after this update, the dealer must also use it.
The keyword in this requirement is “use”.
❗❗ This means that the integration of all the DCP APIs documented here must be active, functional, and available to the dealer ❗❗
❗❗ The impact for our dealers when the DCP APIs are NOT active, functional, and available is that they are not compliant with BRP’s operating standards, meaning they could lose their Retail Bonus (Performax program) for all the product lines they carry, with a direct financial impact on their profitability. $$$$ ❗❗
DCP API Activation
If the integration of all the DCP APIs documented here is not active by default in your DMS for all BRP dealers using it, you must contact the dealers and inform them of the necessary actions.
If the DCP API integration is not active by default in your DMS, send an email to [email protected] with:
- Information on what the dealer has to do to activate the DCP API integration.
- The list of dealers using your DMS without an active DCP API integration.
DCP API V2 vs V4
In recent years, your DMS may have certified some DCP APIs V2 (XML STAR).
❗❗ When developing the new DCP APIs V4 (JSON), the V2 APIs must stay active until the corresponding V4 API is certified ❗❗
The mapping between the V2 and V4 APIs is available in the section Name Mapping V3/V4 to V2.
❗❗ One exception is the Retail Transactions API V2 must stay active in parallel to the Retail Transactions API V4 until requested by BRP to shut it down ❗❗

Parts Catalog Update Through Price Files
The parts catalog is an important source of information for dealers.
In the past, your DMS may have updated its parts catalog using parts price files that we either sent you or made available through BOSSWeb.
❗❗ This method of updating your DMS parts catalog is not authorized!
This could make the dealer not compliant with the BRP operating standards ❗❗
The only temporary exception is if your DMS hasn't integrated the Pars Master V2 API or the Parts API V4.
